Recently, I bought a book by Greg Reid and Sharon Lechter called “Three Feet From Gold”, and it is about the power of not giving up when you are so very close to experiencing victory.

In one chapter, they write about a great piece of advice that Bob Proctor had given them, and it is simply this:

“The first five minutes will determine your entire day.”

The way we start our day is a choice we each make. There hasn’t been time for someone to “do” something to us to make us mad—and we certainly shouldn’t let yesterday affect the way we live today. It’s gone and you can’t get it back. Letting yesterday rent space in your head is useless.

Ask yourself what you can do in the first 5 minutes to start your day right. Pick from any one of these options: prayer/meditation, visualizing the realization of your goals, exercise, reading, writing in a journal. Any of these activities have the power to help you focus on the wealth and abundance that is within you. Not only that, but when you focus your mind, body, and spirit at the beginning of the day it gives you a chance to be in complete alignment with yourself and The Universe. In fact, you can choose several of these activities—or even all of them—and create a routine that lasts up to an hour. Oh….you don’t have time? We all make time for the things that are important to us. Getting up a few minutes earlier might to do this might be the best investment you make all day long as it will have a tremendous impact on your entire day.

We can make the choice to start the day in an empowering way, but always remember—it’s a choice. Anything you can do to keep you focused on the realization of your goals is worth doing, just stay on the path before you and don’t give up!

You deserve to operate at your best every day, and the world deserves the best of who you are. Your gifts, talents, and wisdom can have a profound impact on someone on any given day. We all have something to share with the world.

Just remember: “The first five minutes will determine your entire day.”
