There’s a quote by business philosopher Jim Rohn that really speaks to me because I see a lot of unhappiness for people in their careers and life in general. The quote is simply this:
If you don’t design your own life plan, chances are you’ll fall into someone else’s plan. And guess what they have planned for you? Not much.
I think that says a lot because so many people tend to allow life to happen to them, rather than really going for their dreams.
So let me ask you this: What is it that you wish you could do in life that you haven’t done yet? Then ask yourself why you haven’t done it yet…..you don’t need anyone else’s permission to succeed. When we reach the end of our lives, we aren’t going to wish we spent more time at the office. We aren’t going to say “let’s do that hour long commute to and from work one more time just for fun”. We won’t do that.
So remember: If you don’t design your own life plan, chances are you’ll fall into someone else’s plan. And guess what they have planned for you? Not much.
